We are sorry to announce that Dr Champa Nataraja will depart Eastern Rheumatology at the end of March 2023. We wish her the very best for the next stage in her career.
Champa graduated and obtained her MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences India, before migrating to Australia. She undertook physician training at the University Hospital Geelong Victoria, and then completed specialist training in Rheumatology at Monash Health and the Royal Hobart Hospital in 2018. Champa completed her PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) from Monash University in 2020, and had opportunities to present her research at the national and international conferences in Rheumatology. Her work has been recognised and was nominated for the new investigator award, and was the recipient of the best basic science poster award.
Champa has a special interest in inflammatory arthritis, musculoskeletal diseases, connective tissue diseases as well as complex rheumatic diseases. She aims to provide a high-quality medical services in rheumatology and care for her patients.
Outside of work, Champa has a passion to help underprivileged students with achieving their potential in their schooling in India. She is also a nature lover who enjoys long track walks.
